A Lexicalized Ontology for Spatial Semantics
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents an ontology of lexicalized spatial concepts designed for text processing. The ontology draws on existing linguistic resources and is experimentally shown to improve the automatic extraction of ACE spatial relations, PropBank locative arguments and FrameNet spatial frame elements. We will use the ontology for corpus annotation and automatic inference in the spatial semantic domain.

Principles for annotating and reasoning with spatial information
In this paper we present the first phase of the ongoing SpaceBank project that attempts to create a linguistic resource for annotating and reasoning with spatial information from text. SpaceBank is the spatial counterpart of TimeBank, an electronic resource for temporal semantics and reasoning. The paper focuses on building an ontology of lexicalized spatial concepts. The textual occurrences of...
متن کاملTowards Building Lexical Ontology via Cross-Language Matching
In this paper, we introduce a methodology for mapping linguistic ontologies lexicalized across different languages. We present a classification-based semantics for mappings of lexicalized concepts across different languages. We propose an experiment for validating the proposed cross-language mapping semantics, and discuss its role in creating a gold standard that can be used in assessing cross-...
متن کاملExtending Wordnets To Implicit Information
WordNets mostly deal with lexicalized expressions and lexical-semantic relations among them. Concepts are represented by sets of synonyms (synsets), which constitute the edges of the network. Each synset includes the lexicalized expressions that correspond to a given concept. This paper adduces evidences which support the claim that some concepts, expressed by a subtype of complex telic predica...
متن کاملAnalyzing the problem of meaning in Shabastari’s Golshane Raz
Man has always been finding a complete model for semantics since the beginning. A model which can as a paradigm affects all branches of sciences. In the view of author, such a model can be found in Golshane Raz. Introducing the model from the work mentioned, the paper has tried to explain its sub structural foundations in three fields of ontology, epistemology and semantics. Some of the foundat...
متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
